HEALTH, Providence Public School Department Announce Pertussis Vaccination Clinic

The Rhode Island Department of Health (HEALTH) and the Providence Public School Department will hold a vaccination clinic for pertussis (“whooping cough”) at the Gilbert Stuart Middle School (GSMS) from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, November 21 for students, families, staff and faculty of the school. There is no out-of-pocket cost for the vaccine. Those with health insurance are asked to bring their insurance cards to the clinic.

On November 15, one case of pertussis was reported involving a GSMS student.

8 to 9 pieces of your favorite bread 4 Tbs butter 3 Golden Delicious apples 2 Tbs lemon juice 1 Tbs grated lemon rind 1/4 to 1/2 cup honey 1 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp nutmeg 1 cup apple juice 1/2 golden raisins 1/2 cup walnuts (optional)

Instructions:

Spread bread with butter and toast both sides under a broiler.

Cut bread into chunks.

One-third of Americans are Vitamin D Deficient: Report

A new study reveals that one third of Americans don’t get enough Vitamin D. The report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that that third had inadequate or deficient levels–a factor that could put bones at risk. Researchers say other conditions linked to low vitamin D include diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, and certain heart outcomes.
